Help us fight today for a better tomorrow!
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021!
I remember reading a quote by Gandhi and it went like this
"Be the change you want to see in this world!"-Gandhi
AMAZING HOW OUR VOICES HEARD on NOVEMBER 3, 2020!
NOVEMBER 3, 2020 President-Elect Joe Biden &
Vice President-Elect KAMALA HARRIS won the 2020 election!
What makes this election even more amazing is that wow women of all shades, shapes, and sizes came out and did the deed! They were either tapped in to run or elected to run or asked if they would like to run and we answered the calls!
Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris, the first woman of color in the WHITE HOUSE. Makes me super proud that a daughter of Immigrants and a Woman of Color is in the White House and as Vice President!

I have an obligation as a community advocate and a future public servant to serve the underserved communities in my district and out of my neighborhood! My job is to Create Opportunities and, above all, Equality! I have a moral responsibility to look out for my community to build bridges, not barriers, to serve you!
Please know that I appreciate YOU!
If you don't know or the first time on my page, let me introduce myself. My name is Cynthia Yaxon, Four and a half year DeKalb County, GA resident. I am a proud Latina Woman born from Puerto Rican Parents. Woman of faith, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Bilingual, English and Spanish, and an Advocate for those in my community and Ordained Minister. I believe that listening is a way of creating positive change. I am real, I can lead, and I am committed to dedicating my life to service, my community, and empowering lives by creating Equality, Opportunity, and Justice for all.
I attended Southern New Hampshire University, where I studied political science. I received an A.A. Degree in Liberal Arts and a Certification in Law and Legal Processes; I continue to learn and plan on achieving my Doctorates in Law. I am a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success or Sigma Alpha Pi and a National Honor Society member.
I have been a vital member of the National Leadership and success chapter at Southern New Hampshire University. I completed a very rigorous leadership training program. To receive membership in the Society, I had to attend many hours of training focused on teamwork, goal setting, notable achievement, leadership skills and styles, self-motivation, and accountability.
With the training I received, I Prepared to take on any job or role; this training, I come with these skills already developed. After many hours of hard work, and before receiving my membership and certificate, there was a long process which included the following:
I had to pass a review by both staff at my college and an interview with the National Office. Once I gave my interview's and passed, I then received membership and my Certificate of Leadership Training.
I attended training broadcasts with presenters such as Sir Richard Branson, Trevor Noah, Deepak Chopra, Arianna Huffington, and Anderson Cooper. I also had bi-weekly meetings, where I learned how to use peer groups to increase performance and document my process to reach my goals.
I have over a decade and a half of experience as an Entrepreneur focused on the Hospitality Industry, transportation, and nonprofit as an entrepreneur. I am an advocate for the voiceless. I have helped those in my community, and those who know me know I got your back. I will always dedicate my life to empowering my community, women, men, and youth. I believe our youth are the future doctors, lawyers, politicians, entrepreneurs, agriculturists. The list is endless to what we can build our children to be if we provide them with the tools and guidance to get them there.
I believe in Second Chance, maybe even third chances! Giving someone a second, perhaps even a third chance to get life right is vital for all of us, especially for single mothers and single fathers working hard and want more for themselves but need help. While working as ell as an advocate for my community, I am also studying, I have continued my education, and I hope about the future.
I know the value of education and how hard it was to do both, but I know that through hard work and sacrifice, finishing school or trade school, or finding a job to better yourself and your family. I am here to say all is possible with the proper resources and guidance from those around you, and even those you don't know is what you need to make it.
I Lead with conviction and commit to achieving the goals needed to bring about a better future for my community and all that I do. I know I was born a fighter, I had taken my classes when I was fighting for my life I was constantly told I had 3-6 months of life! I fought hard and thank God! With my faith and my will to fight I am here it has been over 7 years I have been fighting for my life and not one time did I give up on my hopes and dreams! I refuse to give up on my Goals and My Dreams and One day I will receive my doctorates in law, one day very soon! Education is everything to me and being able to self-motivate yourself is hard! But, I am here to say that if you have a dream reach it align yourself with people who can help you reach that your dreams and know it will not be easy either. When life becomes uncomfortable and you achieve a small step with every goal being meet and when you least expect it you MADE IT! For me it was very hard, so many downs and not enough ups but I refused to give up and fought hard with out thinking I am down a path that I love and wont ever stop believing in my dreams! Like the Journey song 'Dont Stop Believin'
I have a passion and a stronger desire to empower others. I believe in being an advocate for those who are voiceless; I believe in myself, and I believe in you! I have helped many in my community and even helped people I do not know. People know that I am the Voice for the Voiceless!
My faith and the faith I have in my fellow brothers and sisters (You!), I know that together with your help and keeping you aware and involved, we can make DeKalb County District 1 and in all of Georgia! We can bring about Opportunity, Equality for all.
I know that I am committed to building a Stronger and More productive District and County, and State!
Accountability, Transparency, and always being in touch with each one of you! Wither individually, or as a whole!
I want to thank you all for entrusting your Vote, supporting me with a sign in your yard, or canvassing, helping me with whatever you could, or just a smile and words of support! Thank you!
Your voices were heard your Voice thru your votes on June 9, 2020, and on August 11, 2020. I know I am grateful to you all! With a pandemic, this election was challenging, and having to rely on digital canvassing was an experience! I enjoyed it, and well, I learned a lot! Please know that I am aware that no matter what I am listening to, I am here and alert and ready to serve you all!
I support positive steps to help bring about changes we need but mainly focus on creating Equality and opportunity for all focused on Health, Economic growth, Education, Clean Water, and Parks, and public safety for all of Georgia!
My Commitment is to empower through Equality and opportunity to continue to build bridges, not barriers, for all, regardless of who you are or what color, race, creed, religion, and sexual preferences, or zip code you live in!
I am committed to a positive change for all!
